A hairdryer is an electromechanical device that blows ambient or hot air over damp hair to speed the evaporation of water to dry the hair.
Alexander F. Godefrey designedthe first hair dryer in 1890, but it wasn't until the introduction of the first hand-held hair dryers in 1920 that the design underwent a significant transformation and went on to become an iconic product.
